Women’s Empowerment and Development
The Pushpai Muralidhar Fegade Foundation is committed to building a society where every woman can thrive, free from economic and social constraints. Our Women’s Empowerment and Development programs are carefully designed to foster self-reliance, build confidence, and enable financial independence, creating a brighter future for women in our communities. Through skill-building, community support, and resources, we empower women to achieve their goals and lead change in their lives and beyond.
Women’s Development and Support
Socio-economic development for women is essential to creating self-sufficient communities. Our Women’s Development and Support programs address the unique challenges women face by providing them with the resources, training, and support they need to thrive.
Skill Building and Vocational Training
Our programs offer a range of skill-building workshops that equip women with marketable skills, from tailoring and handicrafts to digital literacy and business management. By learning new trades and enhancing existing skills, women gain confidence and access to better job opportunities that can support their families.
Leadership and Entrepreneurship Training
To foster female leadership, we conduct training sessions that encourage women to explore entrepreneurship and develop essential business skills. Our goal is to enable women to take charge of their lives and become community role models, creating a ripple effect of empowerment in society.
Awareness and Advocacy
We also conduct awareness programs on women’s rights, health, and financial literacy, providing women with valuable information to make informed decisions and improve their quality of life. Through these initiatives, we aim to raise awareness about pressing social issues and advocate for equal rights and opportunities for all women.
Empowering Story: Rina, a widow with two children, joined our tailoring course and soon started her own small tailoring business. Today, she supports her family independently and provides training to other women in her community, inspiring them to pursue self-sufficiency.
Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
Our Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are community-driven initiatives that create a supportive network for women to build financial stability through collective action. These groups enable women to save, lend, and develop sustainable business ventures, fostering financial independence and community growth.
Savings and Micro-Lending Programs
SHGs provide women a safe space to save collectively, offering financial security and resources for personal and business needs. These savings groups also facilitate micro-lending, enabling members to access small loans without the need for collateral. This helps women invest in new business ideas or meet urgent needs without high-interest burdens.
Business Development and Income Generation
Through SHGs, women receive guidance and support to start small businesses, from handicrafts to food production and beyond. By pooling resources and sharing knowledge, members create sustainable income-generating opportunities that contribute to local economic growth.
Peer Support and Empowerment
SHGs are more than financial tools; they are communities of support where women uplift each other, share challenges, and celebrate successes. These groups foster unity, self-confidence, and a sense of community responsibility, empowering women to become leaders in their families and neighborhoods.
Transformational Journey: The SHG in Kalpana’s village enabled her to start a small dairy business with a micro-loan. Over time, she expanded her business, creating employment for other women in the village and becoming a respected businesswoman.
Support for Homeless Women
In times of crisis, women are particularly vulnerable. Our Support for Homeless Women initiative provides a safe, nurturing environment where women in need can find temporary shelter, support services, and a chance to rebuild their lives with dignity and security.
Shelter and Immediate Care
Our shelters offer a welcoming, secure space for homeless women, providing immediate relief and essential services, including meals, medical care, and hygiene supplies. These facilities serve as sanctuaries where women can feel safe and cared for as they recover and regain strength.
Counseling and Emotional Support
Many homeless women face challenges that extend beyond financial hardship. Our trained counselors provide emotional support, helping them process trauma, build resilience, and set personal goals. Through individual counseling and support groups, women gain the confidence to take control of their futures.
Pathways to Independence
We work to empower homeless women by helping them access educational resources, job training, and employment opportunities. By addressing their immediate needs and focusing on long-term empowerment, we aim to provide them with the tools they need to lead independent, fulfilling lives.
Inspiring Story: Aarti, a victim of domestic violence, found refuge in our shelter, where she received counseling and learned computer skills. With our support, she found a job, secured housing, and now volunteers to help other women facing similar challenges.
