Legal Awareness and Human Rights Advocacy

At the Pushpai Muralidhar Fegade Foundation, we believe that knowledge of one’s legal rights is essential for empowering individuals and building just communities. Through our Legal Awareness and Human Rights Advocacy initiatives, we aim to create a society where all individuals are informed of their rights and have access to legal resources to protect and uplift their communities. Our programs are designed to provide legal assistance, raise awareness about rights, and promote transparency and accountability in governance.

Legal Aid and Rights Awareness

Legal knowledge is a powerful tool for social change. Our Legal Aid and Rights Awareness program is dedicated to educating individuals about their fundamental rights and providing accessible legal support for those in need.

Community Rights Education
We conduct regular workshops, seminars, and awareness drives to inform community members about their legal rights and responsibilities. These sessions cover a range of topics, including labor laws, civil rights, property rights, and child protection laws, empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to safeguard themselves and their families.

Legal Aid and Assistance
For individuals facing legal challenges but lacking resources, we offer free or subsidized legal aid services. Our team of trained legal professionals provides consultation, representation, and support for issues including family law, tenancy disputes, and workplace harassment. By offering these services, we aim to bridge the justice gap and make legal support accessible to all, especially vulnerable populations.

Social Justice and Equity Advocacy
We actively advocate for social justice and equity by working with marginalized groups to address systemic issues of discrimination and injustice. Through legal intervention and community mobilization, we aim to protect the rights of minorities, promote fair treatment, and challenge inequalities in our society.

Impact Story: After attending our rights awareness workshop, Meera, a single mother, successfully reclaimed her parental rights over her children after being denied access. Our legal team helped her navigate the process, giving her the confidence to stand up for her family.

Transparency and Right to Information

Our Transparency and Right to Information (RTI) initiative promotes accountability and good governance by helping citizens understand and exercise their right to information. We believe that transparency is crucial for the fair functioning of institutions and for empowering citizens to hold public bodies accountable.

RTI Education Workshops
We organize RTI workshops to educate community members on how to file information requests, helping them understand the RTI Act and its benefits. These sessions demystify the process of submitting RTIs, enabling citizens to seek information on government policies, public funds, and local governance issues that affect their lives.

Supporting Community Accountability
Through RTI support services, we assist individuals in drafting and filing RTIs, making it easier for them to engage in governance processes. Our team provides guidance and resources to community groups seeking transparency on issues such as public project spending, welfare scheme implementation, and environmental impact assessments.

Promoting Good Governance
By encouraging citizens to utilize their right to information, we foster a culture of accountability within government and public institutions. Our programs help citizens become active participants in governance, holding authorities accountable and promoting greater transparency in public affairs.

Empowering Change: With our RTI support, a group of local farmers was able to obtain critical information about land allotments in their area, shedding light on discrepancies in resource distribution and advocating for fair allocation.
